Updating a premium package
Update an installed IBM Bob Premium Package extension to the latest version or a specific version.
Update an installed IBM Bob Premium Package extension to the latest version, or to a specific version, using automatic updates, the Extensions view, or a manually downloaded VSIX file.
Automatic updates
If automatic extension updates are enabled, IBM Bob updates installed premium package extensions automatically when a new version is available.
After the update is installed, reload the extension or restart the IDE, if prompted, to apply the changes.
Manual update from the Extensions view
If automatic updates are disabled, update the premium package extension manually from the Extensions view.
Open IBM Bob and select Extensions.
Locate the installed premium package extension.
If an update is available, select Update.
Optional: To install a specific version, open the extension's version history and select the version that you want to install.
Reload the extension or restart the IDE, if prompted, to complete the update.
Manual installation from a VSIX file
You can also download and install a specific VSIX package from the Open VSX Registry.
Download the required VSIX file from the Open VSX Registry:
Open IBM Bob and navigate to the Extensions panel.
Use the overflow menu (…) on the Extensions tab and select Install from VSIX…. Browse to and select the VSIX file.
Alternatively, drag and drop the VSIX file into the Extensions tab.
After the installation completes, restart IBM Bob when prompted to complete the update.
